Enterprise Internship Experience

May 11, 2015: I started my internship at 10:00 AM in Woburn for Orientation. There was eight of us total with two guys from Nichols, and we all agreed the paperwork was boring and we finished it over lunch that was provided for us (great food by the way). I then drove another 54 miles and an hour away to my branch in Auburn. I was introduced to my supervisor and he showed me how to log onto my email and online order list. I then drove with another manager to a Worcester branch where I drove a car back to our lot. I did this with a dealership down the road, and even answered a few phone calls. I ended my day at 6:00 after driving two people home, one in Oxford and one in Webster. Not a bad first day.

May 12, 2015: Began work at 7:30, and ended up driving four cars, washing three of them. One of them was a stolen car from Maine. I found a Wendy's wrapper, numerous receipts and cigarette boxes, and a sneaker. But after I was done with it, it looked good as new. I also filled out my first rental note, and a lady walked away with a Chevy Malibu. Other than that, it was uneventful as we were busying trying to get cars from other lots to ours.

May 13, 2015: Today was different to say the least. I signed my second ticket! Unfortunately, the customer did not want to sign for the insurance coverages. I ended up going to a branch down the road in Worcester after lunch. There, I finished the day by driving four separate cars back to our lot. The manager at this branch seemed really cocky, and unlike my main one was more interested in whatever he was doing than making sure I knew how to do something. After I finished cleaning up the last car I drove back, I went home and then drove to Woburn for Thursday and Friday training. Enterprise was kind enough to pay for our stay at the Marriott Hotel nearby. I checked in at 8:00 PM and my room mate came in at 9:00.

May 14, 2015: Training began at 8:00 AM, and they provided breakfast. We had fifteen interns total, and did an ice breaker activity before starting. For the first part of the eight hour class, we watched informational videos on customer service. They discussed the process of giving a rental, from greeting the customer all the way to having them sign their ticket. I had previously gone over this before, but the videos made them more in depth. We also went over the different insurance policies we  sell, and what they covered. After multiple bathroom breaks we had lunch that was catered.  The second part of training saw all of us being asked further question on insurance and how to fill out a ticket. We ended at 5:00 PM and headed back to the hotel. My room mate, myself and two other guys ate out, got back and went to bed.

May 15, 2015: Woke up to several alarms I set beginning at 6:00 for our 8:00 AM session. Packed everything and checked out before proceeding to the class. SPent the first half eating breakfast while listening to a area manager from Logan Airport, who I am pretty sure is close to or is earning a six figure salary. He told us that if you are not doing so well at first, it is not the end, don't make excuses, and keep trying to close. Very inspiring and I enjoyed it better than I enjoyed the second half. That consisted of logging into our work programs, and clocking in and out. We did this while having pizza for lunch, and ended early at 4:30 PM. I drove back home while blasting Sheryl Crow.

May 16-18: I would like to take this entry to explain why I did not work for four days. My Nana, died at the age of 67. Since I already had my 40 hours for the week, my manager gave me Saturday off. Sunday we do not have work, which worked well because that was the wake, and I got Monday off to attend the funeral and carry the casket. It was a sad day, but I do hope she would be proud of me.

May 19, 2015: . I made my first trip to a branch in Putnam, Connecticut, which took half an hour, and before that I went to Lamoreux Ford in East Brookfield, MA. That trip was another half hour trip. Basically, I spent more time out on the road with the cars than with actual customers. The only plus was that I bought lunch from the next door lot at Major League Roast Beef. Not much to really say about this day.

May 20, 2015: Today I met our new assistant manager Gabby. She has been with Enterprise for a year and has been very helpful. We went back to Lamoreux and picked up a car. Then once we got back, I answered multiple calls and closed tickets of people returning. When our manager Kris left to go to another branch, I began game planning with Gabby on how to get our next pickup customer to buy the collision damage waiver. I picked up the customer, and began asking him about his trip, talking about traffic into Long Island, his destination. By doing this, I was building up a relationship with the customer. I was able to fill out the paperwork flawlessly, but even when I offered the insurance, he politely declined. Instead of pressing by saying something else, I let him go on his way. And then I got to go to one of our Worcester branches, and signed two more tickets, bringing me to four total! I also got $6.00 worth of gas because I had to drive my own car for the rest of the day.

May 21, 2015: Today I began work at 7:15 AM. I am not sure why, but it sucked. I went back to Lamoreux, and I washed two cars. The manager for that branch got mad at me because I totally missed pollen on the dashboard of one car. She said, " I don't know what your standard of quality is over there, but this not ok with me." Fair enough, she was right. Yet when we left in a car I cleaned well, she said, "Wow Reeve, this actually looks clean. Good job!" I got pissed because I could not tell if she was serious or sarcastic. When I got back I realized it was 12:00 pm! I had been over there doing squat, and on top of all of that, I got to go home early! I left work at 3:00, which was pretty cool. Just that comment rubbed me the wrong way.

May 22, 2015: So today was really interesting. I had my first displeased customer, as he asked me on the phone why all our lots do not have cars and the ones he gets are crappy. I also saw our lot at FULL capacity. We had so many cars in our lot for the Memorial Day Weekend, we had to park in the lot next to us used by Speedy's auto body shop. Besides our enormous fleet of reserves, I practiced on our training module on how to reserve different customers and write up different tickets. I also answered more and more calls to practice talking to customers and seeing what they needed. I finished at 6:11 pm with Kris and I racking up the keys of the reserved cars for tomorrow. He ended it by saying, " See you tomorrow, and have your sales shoes on!" Oh my...?

May 23, 2015: Crack open the champagne, I made commission! At the end of the day, we had two customers left that were going to pick up their rentals. The first was a Enterprise employee, so he had to buy the collision damage waiver. The second one, who was our last, bought it because his nephew works for Enterprise. So while I didn't sell them the waiver, it still put me on the board. Plus all the other customers I had I was trying to offer them coverage. And as I continue to sell, the better I have become. So overall, I dealt with about 12 customers, picked up wo of them, and got two customers to sign on the dotted line. Since drinking on the job was not possible, I played One More Time by Daft Punk to celebrate. I will continue to write on May 25th, after the Memorial Day Weekend.

May 25, 2015: I got another person to sign, but I didn't get to actually sell it to them. I am beginning to wonder if there is a pattern to getting this done. She was an elderly woman and it was early in the morning, so maybe that had something to do with it. Other than that nothing new really happened. But I will say that it was busy as we had people returning cars all day long. After all, it was the end of the holiday weekend. I saw some familiar faces, others were not. It was busy, but I wrote plenty of tickets, and it was a nice change of pace to get me ready for a Monday morning.

May 26, 2015: Today we had a customer rent a car and return it immediately because he said it smelled funny and was dirty. So we got him a new one after we THOROUGHLY cleaned. Besides that, and our assistant manager Gabby returning, nothing was new. So we resorted to throwing a football around when nobody was renting. I ended the day picking someone up and bringing them back to do paperwork. Ordinary day really.

May 27, 2015: I have some good news, and I have some bad news. Good news is that I got my code for our Ralph program, which is vey helpful. Now I can better see what cars we have available in our fleet. And considering the people that try and book reservations or walk in at closing time for that day, it makes saying no a little easier. And the bad news is I got lost while getting the last pick up of the day. Not only is it bad that I got lost, but by Nichols no less! Enterprise has a branch in Dudley, and I made a wrong turn with the car. So by the time I got back to Auburn,  it was 6:15 PM. But I did get a nap on the way there with the other employee driving.

May 28, 2015: I had five tickets that I wrote out today. And the best part of it was, four bought the damage waiver! I know that we do not make commission off of these sales, since it is expected of us, but this is good news for our branch. Our sales numbers have been in the dumps recently, and it felt good to have had finished the day with that many sales. All in a days work. But I also got an angry phone call from a manager in East Brookfield asking where Chrystelle was. Eventually we found out she was there, but it turns out she has been the subject of a problem that went all the way to corporate. And now I have to work with her on Saturday, so great!

May 29, 2015: Was able to sell one person the damage waiver. But what was really interesting was the phone call I received from a woman looking to book a reservation. It was at 5:00 pm and we had no cars to rent out. She got mad and started giving me shit. " I run a diner with my husband, we make a $500 run to BJ's every week, I have four kids and we are going on vacation next week!" was the jist of it. I find it so inconsiderate how customers expect to get a car when we are an hour away from closing. But what the real kicker was was we had a minivan available. But when I suggested that car to her, she said it is impossible to drive. Okay... so you can run a business and run up a bill, but driving a minivan is beyond your capabilities? I respectfully told her I wish I could help but I couldn't, and she hung up. Good riddance.

May 30, 2015: How Chrystelle still has a job is beyond me. I was dealing with a customer who was having the car paid for by her Diabetic Prevention association or whatever, and the damage waiver was already included. Still, I did not realize this, and she started laughing telling me it was included. At first yes, it was funny. But when the car had to be picked up at a different branch, Chrystelle said she would take care of it, because she was, "afraid I would mess this up more." So after she left one customer dissatisfied by checking her family into a van we had to scour the Earth for, she insults me and takes her time staying out of the office. Luckily, I went on a pickup and the customer was a great guy who rented from us multiple times before. He was really funny and made the day a little bit better. I ended up washing two cars while sweating through my shirt towards the end of the day. We still had a customer who came for a reservation at 12:10 pm! Gabby sent me home and took care of him, but I was really upset during those four hours at work.

June 1, 2015: Now I could tell you about how I got the last customer to buy the damage waiver. Or, I could talk about how I spent the remaining half of my day wrangling cars in East Brookfield. Heck, I could write about how I saw a kid from orientation at Worcester, or how I planned a trip to my friends wedding in August. But no. I am going to share the scariest thing I have seen on the job so far. I come back to the office after picking up a car, and Kris, my boss is being YELLED and SWORE at by some guy who was sent by an auto body shop. Kris then asked him for the car information, to which Mr. Beergut Von WhiteGuy yells, "Read the FUCKING paper, it says it right on there!" I was going upstairs to the bathroom anyways, but it was so uncomfortable. Then the same guy called Gabby and myself, and told us to mail the same fucking paper to him. Kris said screw him and we moved on. I give credit to Kris who had to deal with that guy. I was about to soil my self, and I was not dealing with the guy!

June 2, 2015: Same guy called today, and wanted to make sure that we mailed out his paperwork to him. I was polite and said we did, though Kris could care less about his sorry ass. Nothing new really.

June 3, 2015: Day ended badly as I was criticized by Christelle for my driving when we went out to a Worcester branch. Whether I was too slow, or didn't buy her jokes, I was pissed. At least I did sell someone the damage waiver. Oh well, haters gonna hate.

June 4, 2015: Have you ever heard the song, "Today Was a Good Day" by Ice Cube? Well that was what I felt like today. I sold another damage waiver, but I also got them to sign up for the personal injury option. It covers you in an accident if you get injured and have to visit the emergency room or hospital. Instead of just saying the DW cost $16.99, I added the two dollars for the PAI, and said it was $18.99. They got it hook line and sinker. Drove around many times after that, and the day ended in a rainstorm.

June 5, 2015: I did not get any of my customers to take the damage waiver, so that sucked. But I did do something new today. I went through all the tickets we had and made sure they did not have any extra charges on them, and if they already returned the rental, I would discard those tickets. So I did that with Gabby and Kelly, our new Management Assistant! Speaking of which, she is really nice, and has a good professional attitude. She was able to notice that a guy was not married by seeing he had no ring, did not know his "wife's" birthday or cell phone number, and he wanted to go from a Mustang to a Chrysler 300. I can tell she will be a valuable member of our team.

June 6, 2015: Got a day off today, because Kris is actually trying to keep me at 40 hours per week. Have a good one!

June 8, 2015:  Quiet the surprise today as I picked up the athletic director, Ashley Stambolis! It was great to see a familiar face, and she was renting for a trip to her friends wedding. Besides that, had a customer that called us asking about the dimensions of a cargo van. He did not even set up a reservation. He was acting rude, as many customers do. So, another day in paradise.

June 9, 2015: Went to Holy Cross again, and the baseball coach I rented the car to was a pretty cool guy. I also got to the top of their campus, and got a nice view of whatever Worcester calls a skyline (no offense to Worcester). Rained again, so it felt nice to wear my windbreaker. And just for the record, I have had to break my habit of playing games on my phone during down time. I feel it takes away from time observing my colleagues and trying to fix my pitch. But then I was told I would leave early, but after three customers and one drive to Connecticut later, I only left at 4:30. Not much of a flex out.

June 10, 2015: Today was so boring, I am glad I got to come in at 9:30. We had an empty lot, and for the majority of the day we tossed around a football to pass the time. It wasn't until 4:00 that we had more customer returning and coming in to rent at the same time. It felt like Monday morning all over again.

June 11, 2015: Remember how I said yesterday was boring? Well today was much worse! At the end of the day, watching paint dry would look like Citizen Kane compared to this. Do you know how hard it is to turn away customers? Try doing it for seven hours straight. Hell, it only got worse as we had multiple people return at the same time we had customers walking in to rent before closing. While this chaos was going on, we had a guy rip up the carpet to put some sort of paste on the ground before replacing the carpet and putting our computers back in their place. So we started of the day with an office that looked like a ghost town, and ended with an office that looked like Mad Max.

June 12, 2015: So for the past two days, I have been talking about the lack of cars on our lot. Today we have actually gotten back cars! And when I say got back, I mean we could barely fit any cars in the lot. It was almost as if our whole fleet was in the parking lot. I was afraid that somebody was going to hit one of them. Luckily, everything was alright, and we can sell now. Unfortunately, I could not get my one pick up customer in Douglas to take the damage waiver. Oh well, their is always tomorrow.

June 13, 2015: We kicked butt today! I sold three out of five damage waivers, and Gabby sold two out of six! We always work well together, as we are both very positive people and very friendly professionals. The fact that we had plenty of cars worked out perfectly, and we even helped a customer who did not like the people at the Dudley branch. Our boss, who was not working, came in to see how we were doing. We ended the day as we always do, going over our keys and racking the books. Very happy with our performance.

June 15, 2015: The Monday Morning Rush came as usual, but it did not feel that bad. The only difference was our area manager Michael Hatmaker was there and taught Kelly and I how to do a red car reservation. That means I called customers that were set up for a reservation with their insurance company. I got one out of two to answer the phone. I ended the day at Lamoreaux with Christelle and got a customer to take the collision damage waiver. I would give today a B+.

June 17, 2015: I got yesterday off from work and I got many  comments about my new haircut. Some good some bad, but I ended up selling to one person. It took me a while I am not going to lie, but he signed off on the damage waiver! Booyah!

June 18, 2015: The good news is that I sold another damage waiver. But the bad news is that at the end my headache and tiredness got the best of me. I forgot to fill out some things on two different forms, ended up saying shit in front of a customer, and showed my frustration. Kris told me I had to relax and take a minute if I had to. He also said that we just rent cars out, and it's how you recover from your mistakes that matters.

June 19, 2015: Kris had to leave early because he was really sick, so Kevin from one of our Worcester branches came in to help. I was still able to sell the CDW to a customer! Unlike previous weeks where I sold, this week has felt like a steady stock rising. Or is it a plateau since I only sold one a day? Either way, I have been doing better. And I got to leave early to see Jurassic World.

June 20, 2015: So it was Kelly, Andrew, Christelle and myself in the office today. How bad was it? Well, we got two trucks for our customers on Monday, sold four people the CDW, and were able to leave on time at 12:00 pm exactly. Oh yeah, it was awesome! And Christelle seemed really helpful today, and she explained to me the importance of upselling. That is when we put a customer in a bigger car at the same rate. I have done this before, but she told me how to handle it better, since my customers were worried about the daily rate. After that customer, we had half an hour of nothing, so we chilled and got the placed all tidied up.

June 22, 2015: Kris is on vacation this week, so today it was Gabby, Kelly and another guy named Chris. Kelly was lucky that she got to flex out. That entire day was a nightmare. We turned away customer after customer because we had no cars. And forget asking other branches, because they had none either. The worst customer we had was a woman who called asking if we could switch her out of her Yaris and into something bigger, because she said it would shake at 60mph. We could not because we had no cars, and she wanted us to pick her up on the Mass Pike. Five hours later she comes in and asks us again for a car. At this point, Chris told me to take it for a test drive while he looked for another car. Unsurprisingly, the car ran fine, but someone had just dropped off a car that she rented. It turns out the shaking was due to being a small car, and that she had the Yaris for a day, after renting a car in Cambridge for two days! To top it all off, I thought I was going to get no CDW sales, that is until the last customer. She bought it, and then that was the last thing done before we closed up.

June 23, 2015: I got to flex out today at 1:30! Unfortunately, I did not sell any waivers. I cleaned some cars, and ended charges to some people who already returned their cars. I also got to take on a new challenge. I took money orders (the equivalent of cash) to the Bank of America in Auburn. There I just asked for the lady to deposit them, I got the receipt, and went on my way. Simple stuff, and I got to go home and swim before the twister came and whisked me to Oz... there was also a tornado warning today, hence that last line.

June 24, 2015: Sold one person the damage waiver, made the coworkers laugh, today was successful.

June 25, 2015: I was sent to Lamoreaux today, and that sucked as always. Luckily, I was only there at the end of the day. Staying there the whole day would be far worse than being there the entire time. I also got her pissed when I called Gaby asking what I was going to do. Christelle wondered why I didn't ask her what I was supposed to do. Fair enough, I should have, but I also asked Gabby because she is my boss.

June 26, 2015: A while back, I said I had the most boring day ever, and I would rather watch paint dry. Well today was so boring, that I would rather watch a movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Chuck Norris filing their taxes. It was boring due to the fact that we had little people come in to rent, and we had plenty of cars on our lot. So we were basically playing a waiting game. It went by very slow, and I almost missed having a busy day.

June 27, 2015: Same old Saturday, see you on Monday.

June 29, 2015: LAMOREUAX. ALL. DAY! I would rather saw my leg off like that guy in "Saw" than be there. Christelle did have many reservations set for 8:00 AM, so she needed the help. I got lost on a pickup, and had to call her three times to get the right one. Then until about 1:00 PM I was cleaning cars with Frank, a semi-retired driver. I finally got to go home at the end of the day, and by the time I got back tot he office, Gabby had to call me to make sure I had all my stuff to leave.

June 30, 2015: Kristopher Demers is back! I felt that every phone call I got and answered was for him, since he deals with all the weird customers and rentals. Nothing particularly interseting happened today, but I did sell two damage waivers. And I got to see Hatmaker today. ANd for some reason, it took me forever to find a post office in Auburn. Had to mail a money order, that is why.

July 1, 2015: Today I learned what a "gravy run" is. A gravy run, to us folks at Enterprise Rent-a-Car, is when you drive a long way to a different branch to pick up a different car. Its name comes from the fact that going on this trip is often slow, like "running" in gravy. How do I know what this means? I am glad you asked, because That is what I got to do today! I drove a Toyota Sienna, or some kind of minivan, all the way to Woburn to drop it off and pick up another car. Luckily, the car I drove an hour to get was a convertible Camaro! Had it not been raining on and off all day I would have put the top down. But it was nice to drive that baby back. Once I got back, it was 4:00 and i went home.

July 2, 2015: I went back to Lamoreaux today, but it was pretty good. I just washed cars all day, and backed them into the lot. Christelle wanted to rent a Focus for the weekend, so I had to make sure that was clean (or else?) The only customers I really dealt with were two Indian guys that had a reservation for the minivan we had, and did not come in at 8 like they were scheduled. I ended having to clean it and get them checked out, then they still said the drivers side door was dirty, so I had to clean that again. And that is how the day went.

July 3, 2015: How the hell can this internship be so boring AND weird today?! We had nobody come in after 12:00 pm, and we just sat their doing squat. The most exciting thing going on was trying to find Andrews iPhone. In fact, the craziest thing that happened was some African guy that wanted to rent a car for the day at 4:00, and wanted us to wait until 7:00 so he could not be charged. Kris stepped in and made another deal (ugh) with the guy. But we also had to find a parking space for his home. Yes I said home, because he rolled onto the lot with a semi truck, that he showed me had two beds and four different compartments. So once he was gone, I walked around the building, we moved our cars to make room for any returns on Independence Day or Sunday, and then we got the hell out of there. Happy Fourth of July.

July 6, 2015: Another strange Monday here at group 1053. We had a good amount of people come in during the morning, but around 11:30 that all died down. For the most part, our team sat around the office just answering phone calls. But even with that endeavor, not many calls came by. All i really did today was make sure cars were clean and picked up dropped cars at other locations. I did sell somebody the protection plan, but that was the most exciting part about today.

July 7, 2015: I sold one damage waiver, but that was not the only thing that happened. I picked up a customer that believed we represented the "1%" that makes the USA the worst country on the planet. He also said he would rather live in a third world country, where money is not a problem like it is here. I find it funny that this was coming from a pharmacists mouth. I sold a damage waiver after he left, and then I drove to Woburn for more Intern Training Sessions. I actually saw a few people from Nichols there, and Michael Warrino was in my session. While the pizza they served us for lunch was good, all the information we learned was redundant. I had gone over all they told us within the first few weeks of the internship. So after it was over, I went to Mikes house in Woburn and then went home after traffic died down.

July 8, 2015: After today, you could change my initials from RJC to MVP! I rented to four customers, and all of them bought the damage waiver! And to top it all off, I got to go home early! I could not be any happier!

July 9, 2015: I may have been the MVP yesterday, but today made it seem the Cinderella story was over. I had the exact opposite experience, selling 0/4. It sucked, especially when they where repeat customers and I know they do not take the plans. What made this day almost worse was that I thought I would go to Lamoreuax, and I did. Thankfully, it was only to get some cars. And, I heard that Christelle might not be in our group anymore! Thank you Hatmaker!

July 10, 2015: I got another customer to buy the damage waiver, and it so happened to be a friend of a girl I graduated high school. I only know this because she came into the office with him and her boyfriend. Good thing he did too, because he said his credit was bad. I also learned how to take down someones insurance info since they could not put money on the same debit card he was using as the security hold. And I got to leave early again! So not a bad day in my humble opinion.

July 11, 2015:  When Andrew and I saw Christelle come in, we thought the day was going to suck. But then Kris came in, and we were instantly ten times happier. We spent the morning picking up cars, and then I had to drive from Dudley and back, but I was late because the manager there had me drop off his customer at her house. I then had to clean a minivan that Christelle was supposed to be cleaning, but she half assed it and walked away talking on the phone. She got to leave early, which I was happy to see happen. All of our customers came in, except for two who decided to cancel. And to top it all off, I saw a mouse scurry across the floor! Somebody call Billy the Exterminator.

July 13, 2015: Sold a few DW's today!, But seeing myself at the bottom of the intern matrix was a blow. But the bright side is that I have no other direction to go but up.

July 14, 2015: Had to go to Dudley today during the afternoon. The guys who work their, Kwasi and Dan, are really cool. But what they have to deal with seems a lot worse. Anyone who has been through Dudley, MA and Webster, MA knows that something is not right. There were more people with problems that called and needed to be bargained with. Thankfully, Kwasi got us pizza for the afternoon, something you would never see Kris do. But alas, we can't always get what we want.

July 15, 2015: Nothing new, what a surprise!

July 16, 2015: Heard some disturbing news today. A while back I had rented a car to an elderly woman who was living at a retirement home. It was while someone was closing tickets that she was brought up, but I couldn't really tell what was being said. From the sounds of it though, it appeared that the old lady had died. If this is the case, how sad! But what was interesting was how to get the car back. I did not prod them for information because we had other things to do, but it would be interesting to know how that works.

July 17, 2015: Got the day off.

July 18, 2015: I had the best customer pick up of all time. I went all the way to Douglas to pick up a guy named Lennart, or Lenny. He was from Sweden originally, and needed the rental to go to business in Pennsylvania, he told me how he works for a dairy company, and he actually does business with the Amish and Menninites. But when I mentioned that I was Brazilian, he told me about the time he sat down with Pele and an ABC reporter, and how Pele was very humble and appreciative of Lenny's knowledge. I thought this customer was great, and he enjoyed the Charger we put him in, andhe tipped me with $20.00! And he took the Damage Waiver!!!

July 20, 2015: Gabby was gone today, and it was Kris, Kelley and myself. Holy reservations Batman! We had at least 24 reservations in the morning, and we had more cars than I could count. Trying to clean them all was a pain, but closing them out and calling the customers was even worse. Not to mention that I had quite possibly one of the most awkward phone calls ever as I stuttered and stumbled through my words. Kris laughed and I think I hurt my pride. Most of the day went well seeing as how the only big thing I did was go to Lam to get a car.

July 21, 2015: Oh happy day! Christelle is leaving our group! HOO f-ing RAY, I am so excited! Now she has not officially left, the rumors have been confirmed. I was also able to sell some DW's , but I couldn't tell if my attitude helped after hearing the news.

July 22, 2015: I got to leave early today, but I did some things before that. I drove to Goldstar in Worcester and picked up a car there. I drove it back, wrote out about ten different customers and called it a day. What I have found most frustrating are the customers that take a slight pause and say "umm" when you mention the DW. It frustrates me because it makes me think that they will buy but makes it more devastating if they do not take it. I also found out that the Athletic Trainer who did not take the DW got in an accident. I hope she is fine, but the irony is so strong.

July 23, 2015: I went to GoldStar Boulevard again today, and helped out there for a short while. I actually sold a RAP to a customer I picked up. This is odd seeing as how almost NOBODY signs off on it. But I got her to sign it. I then got to leave early at 11:30 AM so I could go to the dentists.

July 24, 2015: Busy, busy, busy, just the way we like it. I have got to say, it would have been a good idea had I charged my phone during the utter chaos that was Friday morning. Had it not been for Gabby bringing her own charger to the office I might have been in trouble and or lost while on pick ups. And again, it got quiet after lunch and we had a flood of returns around 5:00 PM. Dont believe I sold anything, but I also had fleet deals come in, and they never have to take the DW. It's almost a tie with them.

July 25, 2015: Now if you remember last week, I said that I rented a Dodge Charger to a Swedish guy named Lenny who talked about meeting Pele and tipped me twenty dollars. Well, Lenny came back from his trip to Pennsylvania and I drove him back to his house in Douglas. I got to tell him about how my sister met Vince Wilfork, but could not get an autograph from him. We both agreed that was rude in a way, but also understandable as how pro athletes and celebrities always get mobbed by people. And just like last time, he tipped me a $20 bill. Oh how I love my internship!

July 27, 2015: I had recently wrote down that Christelle would be leaving our area, and she has. She is now officially a part of 10U6, aka Southwest Cutoff, Worcester. And now at East Brookfield, we have Cody from GoldStar over there, and he is doing great. I did not sell today unfortunately, but a good time was had by all, amazing considering Kris was not here, and we survived somehow.

July 28, 2015: Oh boy, I have had no sales the last few days. It sucks, and the heat is unbearable. On top of all that, Kris was still not here.

July 29, 2015: Hump day has never been more appropriate than today. I am here all day, had no lunch break, and still no sale. Kris was back to take care of business with our bad customers, but nothing really new. I just keep saying to myself that I have a few days till my vacation happens.

July 30, 2015: ONE. MORE. DAY! Why can't my friends wedding come any faster?! I felt like the court jester today because I said something stupid but really funny. Thank goodness because it was pouring rain out. Christelle set up a reservation and came in to get it towards the end of the day. Of course it was for a family member. I also had to deal with a customer that talked a mile a minute, and carried no credit, debit or bank card because of the NSA. l wanted to laugh but that would be rude, so I just told him we could not rent a car to him. Oh well.

July 31-August 2: I am off to Minnesota to see my friend get hitched! I will see you on Monday!

August 3, 2015: Your boy is back from Minnesooota! And holy crap, I have a short amount of time before I go back to school. So that means I have to sell, sell, sell! Unfortunately, I have been doing the complete opposite. I have been going through a sales drought. Thank goodness I still have Major League for break.

August 4, 2015: One of the benefits of working next to an auto body shop is they do stuff for you at a discounted price. Seeing as how my inspection sticker was going to be expired, I decided to have them do it. I got to do my job as usual while they took care of it. Unfortunately, I had to pay extra so they could replace the windshield wipers. But they did a great job with everything else, so I was motivated to raise our ESQI.

August 5, 2015: Had a customer today that I had to drive home. Okay, simple enough, except that she was a Prime Ford customer. And she did not understand that we needed to hold fifty dollars on her credit card for her to drive. She had her mom come in and we sorted it out, but the daughter was pissed at us because she was not the sharpest tool in the shed. So again, no sales. Oh hardy har har.

August 6, 2015: Cody is now a part of our group. He used to be at Goldstar Boulevard in Worcester, but know he took Christelles spot at Lamorueax. Not surprisingly, our ESQI has gone up there. It used to be a 64, now it is a 68! Still not where we want it, but its a start. What has not gone up is my sales, because I looked at the intern matrix today. I am still at the bottom! Gotta keep chugging.

August 7, 2015: Hatmaker came in today. Kris left towards the end to go help Cody out at Lamoreaux. He and I actually went on a pickup for a few cars. We ended up at the wrong location, but thats another story. Its always weird having him at the office. He can give good advice, but at the same time, he will test you and try to give you trick questions. That part always gets me. I ended the day by picking up another car at Holy Cross, and I got to go home.

August 8, 2015: Had the day off.

August 10, 2015: Only a few more days. Still no sales. But I did get to rent out two vans to these sisters I set up for a reservation. And I drove two cargo vans today, which is something I'm surprised we haven't seen more often. Actually, considering all the people who ask for them are dicks, it is good we don't have more. A guy also came in to rent the Suburban we had, and i was a guy from Grafton. Unfortunately, he is a regular customer and never takes the insurance. Still nice to see a familiar face.

August 11, 2015: Drove to Lamoreaux in the morning with a truck. The guy who was to be getting the truck decided he did not want it anymore, so I waited for somebody to pick me up. I waited an hour as it poured outside, and got to talk to Frank the car prep and Cody for a while. I got back and Kevin from Park Ave was there, and so was Hatmaker. Kevin was picking up some cars with his people, and Hat was just being Hat. Had a few pick ups, and one drop off. The drop off took forever because he had to go into AAA on our way back to the auto body shop his car was at.

August 12, 2015: This is it. My last day. I have to say, it has been one hell of a ride. But beofre I could leave, I had to do my favorite part of the job... picking up one customer at the very end of the day at the last minute. She was a 20 year old Diamond Chevrolet customer. I was determined to get her to sign the DW! I told her all about the benefits, the cost, and the fact that she would be liable for the cost of the car and repairs. She thought about it, and despite all I said, she refused. It was at this moment I realized Kris was telling me we should not rent to her because she was underage, even with the credit card. But I washed my hands of the situation and then we went out for food and drinks at Buffalo Wild Wings for a group outing. A good way to end the summer if you ask me.
